Waverton Hornets 3 – Vauxhall Astra’s 2
A highly entertaining game between two evenly matched teams. Vauxhall’s took the early initiative with a well-taken goal from Micky WAKEFIELD, and despite several chances at both ends, the half ended 1-0 to Vauxhalls. Waverton Hornets came out on fire in the second half and Vauxhall’s were stung with three goals in as many minutes by striker Mike WOOLLAM. Vauxhalls battled back with a well-worked goal from Vauxhalls man of the match Kamen MARTIN. Vauxhalls exerted pressure towards the end of the game but Waverton defended soundly to hold on for the win. Man-of-the match for Waverton was Michael WOOLLAM after scoring a splendid hatrick.

Waverton Hornets impressed early in the second half and equalised through Michael WOOLLAM. Two well taken goals by fellow striker James HARKER gave the Hornets a comfortable lead however, Saughall exerted pressure towards the end of the game and pulled a goal back but Waverton defended soundly to hold on for the win. Man-of-the match for Waverton was James ALLEN for a splendid display in midfield.
