Saturday 29th Hornets v Vicars X Development

An useful run out for the team against a newly formed Vicars X side who
never gave up throughout the match. Unlike our previous matches this season
we actually scored first!Perhaps a sign that we should abandon our 30 minute
warm up session and get straight into the game.

The absence of Janes A and Robert did not dent the teams confidence and the
introduction of Joe, Jamie H and Connor enabled us to play a well balanced
team. Our midfield dynamo Adam was feeling the cold (or at least his mum
Helen thought so) and arrived sporting a woolly hat and it wasn't even
October.

With James H rested for the first 10 minutes Mike (aka Miroslav to his team
mates)took aim and rattled in a quick fire hatrick. Further goals followed
from Adam and William before the introduction of James H who wasted not time
in finding the net.

Connor and Jamie H defended well at the back and ensured that Jamie O didn't
have a lot to do(much to his displeasure!).Both Jamie, Connor and Joe made
some cracking runs with the ball and all were unfortunate not to get on the
score sheet.

James H soon hit his hatrick and in the dual to be top scorer this season
Mike scored his fourth before being subbed. James H continued his scoring
spree with three more goals to finish with a tally of six. His mum Barbara
(sporting her fairplay jacket emplored James to pass to his team mates)Her
request fell on deaf ears. If James H maintains such a scoring record there
will be no complaints from the management.

William scored two more for his hatrick as did Adam including a corking free
kick over the wall whilst the opposition had a player lying injured and
receiving treatment. We'll have to win the fairplay award on another
occasion.

Despite four players scoring hatricks Jamie H was man of the match for his
allround performance and team player of the week was Mike for his tremendous
determination around the pitch ( and of course 4 goals).

Spectator of the week goes to Jamie O who will no doubt be a lot busier
next week against Newton.
